Vietnam's visa exemption has significantly boosted its appeal to Eastern European vacationers

Vietnam's recent visa exemption policy has successfully ignited a surge in travel interest from Eastern European nations, according to data from the online travel platform, Agoda.

The article reports a 60% rise in interest from Eastern European travelers following the new regulations, which took effect on August 15, 2025. This policy grants citizens from 12 countries—including Poland, Romania, and Slovenia—visa-free stays of up to 45 days for tourism.

Specific country-level data highlights the impact, with accommodation searches on Agoda seeing sharp increases:

·       Slovenia: 77% increase

·       Poland: 74% increase

·       Bulgaria: 72% increase

·       Romania: 69% increase

·       Slovakia: 61% increase

Agoda noted that these simplified entry procedures are crucial for boosting visitation from Europe and other long-haul markets. This private sector data aligns with official statistics, which show that total European arrivals in Vietnam climbed by nearly 35% in the first nine months of 2025, with a massive 60% year-on-year increase in the third quarter alone.
