Tips to use Vietnam Visa Exemption effectively

According to Vietnamese Government, the new regulations releasing on 15th August 2025 prolong Visa exemption's duration stay to 45 days for citizens of countries with unilateral Vietnam visa exemption.

(*)Nationals of Belarus having valid ordinary passports, shall enter, stay, leave and transit the territory of Vietnam in a visa-free regime, provided that the duration of their stay does not exceed 30 (thirty) days, counted from the date of entry. The total period of stay within Vietnam must not exceed 90 (ninety) days within a calendar year.

Tips for using Vietnam Visa Exemption:

  • Make sure that your passport has at least 06 months validity and 02 blank pages. Otherwise, you cannot enter Vietnam.
  • The day interval between 02 stays with visa exemption is not required anymore. Travelers visiting Vietnam with visa exemption can exit the country after the exemption period ends and return the country immediately for another exemption.
  • There is no limit on the use of Visa Exemption. Foreign passport holders can use Visa Exemption as many times as interest.
  • If you plan to visit Phu Quoc Island, there is also Visa Exemption policy for foreign citizens here. Foreigners who enter Phu Quoc Island by airplane can have 30 days Visa Exemption.
  • APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) holders can have 60 days visa-free to enter Vietnam if there is the VNM code on the back side. If you have APEC card with the VNM code, just use it to enter Vietnam.
  • Additionally, if you plan to stay for an extended period of time, you may still need to apply for a visa.
  • Overall, it's important to do your research ahead of time to ensure a smooth and hassle-free travel experience.
