How to get Business Visa to Vietnam?

If you are planning a Business trip to Vietnam, the thing you must keep in mind is a Vietnam Business visa, as it may ruin your trip in certain manners.

What is Vietnam Business Visa?

Vietnam business visa is a short-term visa to Vietnam, issued to the foreigners who will be working with/for a company in Vietnam, attending a meeting/negotiation, or signing contracts, and do not have a valid working visa or temporary residence card.

While people with Vietnam tourist visas are not permitted to work in Vietnam, those with a business visa are allowed to take a leisure trip during their business in Vietnam.

Who do not need a tourist Visa for Vietnam?

Vietnam has exempted Vietnam tourist visa for certain nationalities under the bilateral and unilateral agreements.

Vietnam business visa types?

There are 2 types of Visa that you can get to travel to Vietnam for Busines:

  • Business E-Visa (EV): EV is the symbol of Vietnam Electronic Visa (Vietnam E-visa) according to current regulations with a term from 30 days (1 month) to 90 days (3 months) allows single or multiple entries.(There no sticker on your passport).
  • Business Visa (DN Visa): DN is the symbol of Vietnam Business Visa. There is a sticker Visa in your passport.

How to get Vietnam Business Visa?

Applying for the Business E-Visa (EV):

Since 15 Aug 2023, Vietnam government has granted E-Visa to citizens of all countries/territories.

You can apply for a Business e visa for Vietnam personally or the inviting organization/company can apply on your behalf.

The validity of the E-Visa is up to 90 days with single or multiple entries.

Required documents & Information:
  • Passport data page image covering all information and ICAO line (be valid for at least 6 months, and has 2 pages left)
  • Portrait photo: 4x6; Face looking straight, showing 2 ears, bare head, not wearing glasses; high quality;
  • Information of your Sponsor company in Vietnam (name, address, phone number).
Procedure when traveling to Vietnam with E-Visa:
  1. Print out or keep E-Visa on phone to board the plane;
  2. Upon landing, present E-Visa at Immigration checkpoint and get Visa stamp, enter Vietnam.

Apply for Vietnam tourist Visa on arrival (VOA)

DN Visa is categorized as DN1 and DN2 visa, formally DN, of which:

  • DN1 visa – to be granted to foreigners who work with other businesses and organizations with legal status in accordance with the laws of Vietnam.
  • DN2 visa – to be granted to foreigners who come to Vietnam to offer services, establish a commercial presence or perform other activities under international treaties to which Vietnam is a member.

The validity: 3 months multiple entries

  • Sponsor company's token USB
  • Notarized business license copy
  • Passport scan with company stamp
  • The staff of your company in Vietnam who has contract with this company/organization will present at the Vietnam Immigration office
Applying Vietnam Business Visa on arrival:
  1. Get the Business Visa approval letter
  2. Prepare documents for Business Visa stamping
    • Print of your visa approval letter,
    • A completed entry & exit form,
    • Your original passport, and
    • Your photos, and
    • Visa stamping fee, which is:
      • US $25 for a single entry visa, or
      • US $50 for a multiple entry visa.
  3. Get business visa stamp & Sticker

Upon arrival at Vietnam airport, you will need to show the documents mentioned above to the Vietnam Immigration Officer to get visa stamped and sticked onto your passport and then complete the entry procedure to enter Vietnam and do your work

Applying Vietnam Business Visa at Vietnam Embassy/Consulate

In case you want to get a Vietnamese business visa this way, you have to visit the nearest Vietnam embassy/consulate. You can find the list of Vietnamese embassies and consulates worldwide here.

  1. Get the Business Visa approval letter and fax letter for your business visa stamping to the registered office of Vietnam embassy/consulate.
  2. Prepare documents for Business Visa stamping
    • Print of your visa approval letter,
    • A completed entry & exit form,
    • Your original passport, and
    • Your photos, and
    • -Visa fee depends on the EmbassyConsulate
  3. Get business visa stamp and Sticker

You submit your prepared documents to the registered Embassy or Consulate of Vietnam in person.

Once your Business Visa has been approved, it will be affixed on your passport and you can use it to enter the country via any ports.
